O’Dua — The Diaspora
// 04 — THE DIASPORA REGISTRY

The family
was carried far.

A working registry of the kindred branches across the world — from the cradle in Ile-Ife to the carrying lands of the Atlantic, and onward to the modern migrations of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

// THE THREE GREAT REGIONS

One root. Three rivers.

I · WEST AFRICA · THE CRADLE

Yoruba · Anago · Itsha · Aku

II · AMERICAS · THE CARRYING

Nagô · Lucumí · Olukumi

Brazil (Bahia, Recife, Salvador), Cuba, Trinidad, Haiti, Venezuela. Carried by the Atlantic, kept alive in language, drum, and prayer. Some of the most active Yoruba practice in the world is here.

VERIFIED REPS0,312

The Modern Migration

London, Manchester, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Atlanta, Toronto. The youngest branches. Carrying the same root, the same head, the same code.
